Shelf Life of RFID Labels

Lately customers have been asking if the RFID labels expire. It’s a bit complicated to say that they expire due to that the label itself has many components. So, to better answer the question, I will list what components do and don't expire. The RFID chip is the only component that can last a lifetime. The adhesive of the label if properly stored at 72° F at 50% RH can be good for 2 years. SimplyRFiD; however, only guarantees it for 1 year as well as the Certificate of Conformance.
