Will it Survive: Boiling an RFID Tag

In our latest "Will it survive" RFID test, we boil an RFID tag.Boil an RFID tag - high-temp / autoclave / metal mount RFID tag

We placed a Nox-TM4 in boiling water (about 212F, for science buffs...) and let it sit for 10 minutes.

We did discover, and document, an anomaly we weren't expecting: The tag works terribly when wet. We used an air blower to quickly dry the tag and it works just fine.

The Nox-tm4 works on metal and can handle 400F temperatures. The immersion in water was to demonstrate high-heat with a strong protection from elements/submersion.
